Weekly Photo Challenge: Big

Nothing can be bigger than the mountains, lately my favorite subject. So here is one more from the Himalayas, taken during our visit to Ladakh.

The lines on the snow covered side of the mountain is the road by which we just rode up. BIG!!

  1. I had to find Ladakh on a map. How big is that mountain, and how far up does the road go? Do you have to worry about crossing the wrong border in that area?

I love mountains, too, Hema. Thank you for this post.

    • Ladakh comes in the region of the Upper Himalayas, and has the highest peaks in the world. the area also has the highest motorable pass, the Khardung-la pass at 18000+ ft. And we have Pakistan in the east, China in the north and west, so it is one of the highly militarized zones of the country. we couldn’t cross any border even if we wanted to. 🙂 but it is also the most beautiful place I ever visited.
