Weekly Photo Challenge: Mine (1)

When I think of ‘Mine’ the first thoughts are of my books. They are an important part of my life. Just reading them is not enough, I want to own them. So every time I buy a new book I also buy one that I’ve already read (from library during my school and college years).

I am very possessive about my books and cannot bear any harm to them. One thing that I’m not proud to admit is that I tend to judge people from the way they treat books, specially mine. Only my close friends and a few who I can trust get to borrow books from me. And heaven help the person who damages, or worse, loses my book. He/She is forever blacklisted.

On display are a few of my books.

  1. I completely understand what you mean about books. I love mine as well and I just can’t imagine an e-reader. What’s to put on the shelf???? A favorite song line of mine, about finishing a book is, “I put my book on the shelf with my heart in it.” That’s what I do with a book I have really connected with, whose characters became friends, who I grew attached to, I like the book near me, even when our time together is over. 🙂

  2. More than anything else, I am really happy seeing you own one of my most favorite book “The Secret”. I am yet to own one copy of it. Now after watching this photo, I have to buy it soon. 🙂
